Spoof Dashboard Guide
Spoof Dashboard Guide
The Spoof Dashboard is your central command center for monitoring potentially malicious domains that could be impersonating your brand or organization.
Dashboard Overview
When you first log in to Spoofchief, the Spoof Dashboard provides a comprehensive view of all potentially suspicious domains that may be impersonating your brand. The dashboard is designed to be intuitive, allowing you to quickly identify and prioritize potential threats.
Active Spoofs Section
The Active Spoofs section displays a list of domains that Spoofchief has identified as potentially impersonating your brand. For each domain, you’ll see:
- Domain Name: The full domain name that may be impersonating your brand
- Risk Level: A color-coded indicator showing how risky the domain is
- Date Detected: When Spoofchief first detected this domain
- Status: Whether the domain is currently active or inactive
Why This Matters
Malicious actors often create lookalike domains to trick your customers or employees. These domains might be used for phishing attacks, scams, or brand abuse. The Active Spoofs section helps you stay on top of these threats.
Investigating Domains
The most powerful feature of the Spoof Dashboard is the ability to investigate suspicious domains with a single click.
Single Domain Investigation
To investigate a single domain:
- Find the domain in the list
- Click the checkbox next to the domain name
- Click the “Investigate” button
- Spoofchief will analyze the domain and provide detailed results
Batch Investigation
To investigate multiple domains at once:
- Select multiple domains by clicking their checkboxes
- Click the “Investigate” button
- Spoofchief will analyze all selected domains
Credit System
Each investigation uses credits from your account:
- One credit is used per domain investigation
- The number of remaining credits is displayed at the top of the dashboard
- If you need more credits, click the “Add Credits” button
Managing Domain Status
Domains can have different statuses in the dashboard:
- Active: The domain is currently live and potentially dangerous
- Inactive: The domain is no longer active or has been taken down
When a domain becomes inactive, you’ll receive a notification. This helps you track when threats have been mitigated.
Filtering and Searching
To help you find specific domains:
- Use the Search box to find domains by name
- Use the Risk Level filter to focus on high, medium, or low-risk domains
- Click on column headers to sort the list
Understanding Risk Levels
Spoofchief assigns a risk level to each domain based on multiple factors:
- Low Risk (Green): Minimal similarity to your brand or low threat indicators
- Moderate Risk (Yellow): Some suspicious elements, but may not be actively malicious
- High Risk (Orange): Strong indicators of malicious intent, closely mimics your brand
- Critical Risk (Red): Highly dangerous, active threat to your brand and customers
Always prioritize investigating domains with higher risk levels first.
